Dear Supporter:

July 22-23, 2008, Working Mother Media will host a silent auction during its Best Companies for Multicultural Women National Conference at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers to benefit The Women’s Alliance.

Unite…again! In the past five years the Best Companies for Multicultural Women National Conference has highlighted the some of the most important issues in the workplace for multicultural women: the changing face of business, strategic alliances and unity, trust, authenticity. This year Working Mother Media is bringing together high-achieving, high potential Asian, African- American, Latina, Caucasian, and Native American women from across Corporate America to talk about: Risk Takers. Change Makers. Women in Charge.

While thought-provoking Keynotes, Interactive Workshops, Executive Panels and Roundtables reveal and discuss ways women take risks, and what strategic moves it takes to win big, the most powerful draw of this event is in the conversations between participants. Attendees get many opportunities to meet and discuss key issues around managing their careers with people like themselves. The focus is on how women and their companies can increase opportunities for growth.

Proceeds from the Silent Auction will benefit The Women’s Alliance, a national organization of independent community-based members who provide professional attire and career skills training to low-income women and families seeking self-sufficiency.

Each year, The Women's Alliance helps more than 50,000 women and families in transition from welfare and poverty to overcome significant employment barriers and the "cost of making a good appearance." Services provided ensure that low-income women and families have the professional attire and career skills coaching they need to make the right impression on job interviews and to succeed in the workplace. 100% of TWA’s 35 member programs provide professional attire for women, while 80% also provide clothing options for men, teens or children. For the nearest member program near you, visit www.thewomensalliance.org.

With your donation of a Silent Auction item, The Women’s Alliance can continue to offer much needed services to low-income women and families across the country seeking to improve their lives and achieve self-sufficiency. I have attached our Silent Auction checklist for your review.
